What is Centro Evangelico?
Centro Evangelico is a school founded by Pastor Raul Aquino Peguero in 2001 in an impoverished area in El Prado, Dominican Republic. The school has few resources so we get involved by sending teams down to work on various projects at the school and in the community.

Our History With Centro Evangelico
2021 - Kids Return to Centro Evangelico El Prado (CEEP) campus!
In July of 2021, we traveled to CEEP and installed a playground which we sourced from Kids Around the World. Not only did we get the equipment from them, they also sent two people to help with the install. Praise God! Along with the playground, we sent down a 40 foot shipping container filled with supplies and equipment (including a skid steer). The shipping container was convered into a storage facility and workshop by the end of our trip. Three people on our team were baptized by Pastor Raul at a nearby YWAM campus. It was fun to see the kids from the area flock to CEEP and use the new playground and hear the Word of God.
God is Good!
2020 - Getting the kids out of the hot sun and into God's Big House!
In September of 2020, we tackled our biggest project yet! A steel roof was constructed over the Sports Court…by a team of just 10 people. The team worked some long days but got the roof up. We named it “God’s Big House” or “Casa Grande de Dios”. The team had been slated for April, 2020 but COVID delayed the trip…but certainly didn’t stop it!
A small team went back in December of 2020 to dedicate the roof and celebrate the 20th anniversary of the school. What the blessing the school is to the community!
2019 - Dental, outreaches, painting, camps and security systems - varied trips!
In 2019, we had three varied trips to Azua. The first trip was building, upkeep, outreach, dental, crafts and sports camp. The second was focused on installing a security system at the school, but of course also included some fun with the kids! The final trip was a trip of fellowship and planning. Some of the time on the various trips was difficult, but God is always present!
2018- Multiple Projects and vision for the future!
In 2018, a very diversified team traveled to El Prado. We were tasked with laying the foundation for a concrete roof for a guest building that we had funded, hold a dental clinic, and do medical screenings. We had right talents and skills on the team to preform these tasks…but we had no idea what we were getting into. We saw God in action as we discovered that the roof structure wasn’t properly engineered. A pastor…who also was an engineer…friend of Raul’s, happened by the job sight and to our amazement, re-engineered the structure before we got going. Through the dental clinic, we discovered that dental hygiene was non-existent and the medical screenings revealed rampant malnutrition. There’s much work to do going forward!
We also got to tour a restoration site that we had funded for a family whose home was washed away after a recent hurricane.
2017- A Fresh Look
A team of 9 went down in June of 2017. Due to a medical emergency, two of the team had to leave shortly after we arrived. The local medical facilities were visited a couple time but the team continued on. This was a hard trip. We were physically and spiritually drained as we remodeled a building at the school to create a school office, resurfaced the sports court, and improve a kitchen area. The week ended with a school year-end cerebration which lifted us all. That’s why we were there!
2014- More Than Just A Building
In 2014, a multi-generational team of 12 traveled to El Prado to construct a new building for the school. Enrollment now was pushing 300 kids! This team experienced many struggles along the way from automobiles not starting to walls tumbling down. They discovered much spiritual growth through those struggles. Many on the team were baptized by Pastor Raul in the ocean. It was a powerful trip and certainly was much more than just a building.
2011- And They Came! More Space Needed
In 2011, a team of 12 guys traveled back to El Prado to put an addition on one their buildings. More classroom was needed. The Sports Court had become a draw for kids in the community. It was the first Sports Court in El Prado. We worked alongside our Dominican brothers and sisters and managed to get the building up roof and all. We were all amazed at how they can take concrete blocks and make into a beautiful facility. We were able to hold an Upward basketball camp as well. We’re realizing that we’re making a difference. God is affirming our work in the DR.
2009- Build It And They Will Come
A team of 23 ranging of 12 to 70 years old traveled to El Prado for our first trip to the region. Our mission was to the build a sports court for the school which was just 8 years in existence. At first sight, the mission looked impossible! The boulders in our path were enormous…but nothing is impossible with God. The sports court was completed and used by the end of the week! We were amazed!
